That's pretty much what everyone is saying.
Also remember if you do get one, a sniper is not a gun, it is a dedicated person.

Real steel is more important for some people, airsoft is more important for other people

I would get a VSR 10 if you are really going to use a Tavor at the same time. The VSR is much lighter and shorter than an L96 and the hop up is easier to adjust.
I tried to carry an L96 and M4 at the same time, and I was walking the whole time, being caution not to hit my L96 barrel on anything. Being quick in airsoft is quite important, since airsoft range is much shorter than real steal gun range.

When I first started airsoft, I thought my TMC RRV was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Compared to my Army surplus combat vest, it was amazing.
Then I got a Mayflower APC and realized how terrible that TMC RRV was.
Then I got a Crye AVS, and realized that even the APC wasn't all that great.
Just because your gun works amazing in your experience, doesn't mean it is a good gun.
OP: Get a JG BAR or a TM VSR if you have money to blow. I'm also right handed and prefer to shoot with my left eye (right eye is near sighted, left eye is perfect), but you'll just have to make do with your right eye. As long as you practice, you'll be fine. I still managed to qualify Expert in both pistol and rifle during basic using my right eye.
