How is what I said BS?

Im not putting my opinion but rather some statistics

Unemployment during FDR's New Deal and New Deal II

1933: to 24.9%
1934: Starts to heal and unemployment drops to 21%
1935: Drops to 20.1%
1936: Drops to 16.9%
1937: Drops to 14.3%
1938: Rises to 19%

New deal was in 1932 i belive and new deal 2 was in 1937.

In the fallowing years the % drops rapidly because of the war.

Also if you do not like my suggestion of FDR then supplement him with president Woodrow Wilson who imprisioned people for speaking out agaisnt the goverment durring WW1 and thought the constitution was outdated.

Nope, Sionadi, that was not me. I don't get into economic political discussions, because that's not my area of study, so I'd rather keep my mouth shut instead of making a fool of myself (a thing a few people on here could use :P).

That says nothing about triple an X amount. It says that Bush only spent that much in 8 years, it doesn't matter if 90% of it was spent in the first two months like Sideways claimed. And I didn't mean you by my last comment :P

Yep, I'm not denying it rose either. But in a generalization the overall trend was the unemployment went down. The stock market nevers go straight up or straight down. It goes like this:

See all the little lines in between general trends? The general trend of unemployment when FDR was president was it was going down. also, between 1937 and 1938 we had a mini-recession inside our depression that we got over in a year.

The problem is that When FDR did the New deal and New Deal 2 we saw a increase in unemployment, the perfect example is 1937 and 38. In 37 he did new Deal 2 and by 38 the unemployment increased.

Unemployment never increased during the first New Deal, but it did during the Second New Deal because of a mini-recession that occurred right after he launched it.

I'm just putting this out there, its what I was taught and plan to forget as soon as I pass my exam. FDR got the ball rolling with the deficit spending, this is how the goverment works counter cyclically, with work programs, like dam building, then WW2 hit, and it...trying to remember correctly) I know it cost us several million dollars an hour in deficit spending. I was told that FDR got the ball going in the right direction, but that FDR did not end the depression. And I don't see how his plans could compete with the spending taking place with the war anyways.
Obama is trying to work the same way, kind of. rather then making new jobs, hes cutting the useless jobs to save money(or at least, trying to)
My opinion? I don't think America is ready for a democrat pres right now, if you look, we got into a series of republican era/democrat era, where it was a majority of dem/rep for so and so amount of time, without the opposing party being in the presidents seat. right now we are are in a republican era, and we don't know when it will end. Looking back at Americas love of Reagan, then when H bush tried to ride with Reagan's glory, and his son later, I think the rep's still have this era, but they got lazy this election year.
[/opinion rant]
